A new section under way for the Delivery jobs I have done, which could be considered Cruising,  albeit with a timing to bear in mind.

Over the years, between actually working the Rigging loft and racing classic yachts, I have managed to escape life as considered normal and either been employed as relief crew, or skipper for moving boats about the world.

Although this is work, and normally operating to a schedule, it is akin to “Cruising” in the sense that we are not actually racing and have relative freedom as to routing and not so many crew.   Having said this, the owners obviously want their yachts delivered on time, they also want them to arrive in the best condition possible so they may enjoy sailing themselves.   Therefore, speed although influencing the passage time must be tempered by the safety and the wellbeing of the yacht and crew.   We try the shortest route possible, avoiding unnecessary stop offs but as ever wind, weather, supplies and fuel capacity will affect the overall plan..

More to come…   just needs working on…
